Greetings everyone As the you may gather from the title I have left The Harcourt Arms. I worked my last full day on February 29th and the reason for holding the leaving party a month later is due to a busy schedule at the pub and also for myself. After 6 1/2 years working for and running The Harcourt together with John and Dee I've decided that a change was much needed. It wasn't an easy decision but I'm very happy with it. It's not easy to leave "The Swedish Pub" as it is something I've built up and when I compare it with what it was when I first started working for John and Dee in 2001 the transformation is fantastic. John and Dee has invested a lot of money during the last 6 years. We had a big refurbishment in May 2002 where the pub got a much needed face lift and this made The Harcourt look like a modern old English pub if that makes any sense. I thank John and Dee for help, knowledge and advice during all these years. I hope you (customers and friends) have enjoyed The Harcourt as much as I have and I hope you will keep enjoying it in the future.I know I will! I know that some find it odd that we're showing Swedish sports and events on TV and not Sky but I don't think so as it is obvious as it is The Swedish Pub. There has been a lot of funny comments about it but also much interest from the majority of people that asked why we decided to go Swedish. A very big thank you to all of you that I've met during my time at The Harcourt. I've met many good friends and many interesting people and I am very pleased I did. A special thank you to Martin and Daniel, www.londonsvenskar.com, who have helped me with our website, advertising, design, computers and drinking and for being great friends. So, you are all invited to my leaving party on Saturday the 29th of March at 5 pm - 11 pm. I look forward to see you all. Jens |
